Today is Easter. Easter is the Christian Church’s celebration of the fulfillment of God’s sacrificial promise. You see, under the sacrificial system of atonement for sin established with His people, forgiveness required a perfect blood sacrifice. But, there was no animal sufficiently perfect to properly atone, so God purposed to clothe himself in human flesh to shed His blood for the atonement for the sin of all mankind. In final fulfillment of His promise to overcome sin and death, He rose from the grave on the third day. It is faith in the truth of His redemptive blood sacrifice and resurrection that restores our relationship with Him and leads to our salvation. Throughout the forty days that followed His resurrection and prior to His ascension, Jesus appeared countless times to His disciples, among others. Understand and believe that He did all this to be in relationship with you.
I hope and pray that, if you don’t know Him, that in the coming days that you will open your heart and mind to the idea of a relationship with Him and accept the free gift of salvation He is offering you.
Know that Jesus loves you … and so do I.
